Celebrating Creativity and Innovation with Cebu Design Week

With the local creatives getting more recognition and with its local industry flourishing, Cebu Design Week once again pays tribute to commemorate the local design industry with goals to cultivate the local ecosystem through creativity and innovation. Last March 1, 2019, Cebu Design Week holds its press conference at Seda Hotel Cebu to share about what to expect. Now on its second year, Cebu Design Week will be holding events on product showcases, design conferences, networking meetings, workshops, exhibits, and a creative festival. Week-long activities will be happening around Cebu from September 8 - 15, 2019 and mai events happening in IC3 Convention Center from September 13-15, 2019.

Once again, this event will be tackling industries in print and new media, visual arts, performing arts, cultural designs, culinary arts, broadcast journalism, and other sectors in the creative industry. Cebu Design Week aims to gather 15,000 people that will not just consist of creatives but also startups, government representatives, entrepreneurs, and industry professionals who see the importance of design in their work. In the long run, the goal of Cebu Design Week is to develop a creative economy and liveable community, boost the tourism industry through promoting culture, and hopes of developing Cebu to be a UNESCO Creative City of Design.

With the Philippines gradually giving its creative the limelight to shine, it is indeed progress for the local creative industry to grow and gain more recognition. Today, even business-related courses are partnering up with creatives to show how importance design is in work and how it can become money-generating. With this event, it can give an opportunity for a growing community of passionate creatives to share their vision and opinions on it.
