Startup Weekend Cebu: Making Your Business Come To Life
Ideas start from scratch, and transforming it into reality can definitely create wonders, just like making businesses. Startup Weekend Cebu is a 3-day entrepreneurship program where designers, developers, marketers, and startup enthusiasts come together to pitch an idea and create a business module within the span of 54 hours. It will be held this September 27-29, 2019 at KMC Solutions, IT Park. This will be its 8th year and will have the theme "Women" where judges and mentors will consist of strong local female entrepreneurs, who will help guide the participants along the way in creating their businesses. Remarkable women mentors such as Elaine Bernice, Laurice Chiongbian, Timmy de Jesus, Patricia Kyle Mendoza, and Bon Louie Gimarino will be helping the teams.
The winners of Startup Weekend Cebu Women Edition will be given the chance to compete and participate in an in-person demo day workshop in Singapore along with the chance to showcase their prototype as well.
“This edition is special because it is not only focused on uplifting women but we are also going global,” said Maryanne Apale, Lead Organizer of Startup Weekend Cebu Women Edition. “Last year’s women edition, the winning team had the chance to fly to Bali, Indonesia, and present their winning idea to the participating countries in the Asia Pacific. This year, the event is done simultaneously worldwide and the final pitch will be in Singapore,” Apale added.
