Written by Ame Garong, this book is possibly the first in the study of Philippine prehistory in specifically exploring and understanding the prehistoric diet of our ancestors. For this pioneering endeavor, stable isotopic analyses were applied on human bones, hair, and teeth in deciphering ancient food and the source of drinking water in prehistoric times. The results from this highly technical research work will go a long way in a fuller understanding and deeper appreiation of the Philippine's rich archeological heritage.
Ame P. Garong holds a Doctor of Science degree from Kyushu University, Japan. She is currently a museum researcher at the National Museum of the Philippines where she works at the Archeology Division.
