This is the exhibition catalog of rare and antique santos and related Catholic religious art collected by Rosita Rodriguez-Arcenas from the 1950s to the 1970s now housed at the Arcenas Galleries of the USC Museum. Curated by the author, Dr. Clodoveo Nacorda and designed by Rosita’s own son Loy, the exhibition showcases 132 objects that range in size from small santo hands made of ivory or wood to very large altar decorations. Complementing this are 31 objects from the museum’s own that are also included in both the exhibition as well as this catalog. Designed for easy reading, this book will prove handy for both collector and the curious with exhibition-quality photography made by Fr. Generoso Rebayla, Jr., SVD.
For the curious as well as the collector and connoisseur of the arts, this deserves a special place on the bookshelf.
